Málaga Nightlife
Like Málaga's
renowned bars and restaurants, the best clubs and discos are
often hidden away in the most unlikely of places and known
only by the locals, but most are within three main areas of
the city. Two of the most popular clubs in recent years have
been the Duna Disco, on the Avda. Juan Sebastian
Elcano, which has a reputation for its exciting evenings
and live music and Extasis, which is one of the largest and
most popular clubs in town. Entrance fees are much cheaper
than in Marbella
and are often under 10€.
Málaga,
being a city which largely relies on local and national
commerce rather than international tourism, is staunchly
Spanish, so do remember to memorise a few handy phrases before
hitting the club scene!
Dress
Code
Málaga,
like the rest of the Coast, is a fairly casual
place so there is no need for formal dress.
How
Much
Málaga's
prices are generally cheaper than the rest of the Coast due to
the fact that it caters for canny locals who refuse to pay
"tourist prices", so you will not need to bring along more
than 50€ for a decent night out.
Travel
and Safety
Málaga,
although a tiddler in comparison to Madrid and Barcelona,
is a reasonably large city, so finding your way around the
idiosyncratic road system can be an interesting experience!
Parking can also be a problem but the bus service runs
for most of the night. Málaga
is by no means the crime capital of the world but, as in all
big cities, you should beware of exposing your money and
valuables. |
